This one is for the Perfectionists and Self Doubters. Those who hold themselves up to near impossible standards. You get lost in endless final touches and mind numbing bouts of comparing everything you do to someone else. You don't share what you create because there's an internal ticket tape running that says ‘Its not good enough. Its not good enough. Its not good enough.”
Here's an idea…
Why not just give it a try?
Shake off the idea that you're putting out something perfect. Wiggle right out from under all the heavy expectations that it be a wild success.
I'm not saying to do carelessly shoddy work or not give your promotion all you've got.
What I am saying is this: You don't really know anything about what works until you give it a try.
I love to give things a try. I've given myself more permission to experiment in the last few years and my business has flourished!
Has every ‘try' been awesome? Nope!
And here's the thing: I don't even care! I learn from projects that fail. I gain valuable perspective about my market from what they do and do not respond to.
This can be a valuable message for a newcomer – but even more so for a veteran. When you have success under your belt, you can start to feel pressure to always hit it out of the park.
If you stop giving yourself permission to experiment and try new ideas, your business is going to grow stale.
So go give new something a try!
